Can Quillio analyse a record of interview?

Quick answer

Yes. I analyse electronic records of interview (ERISP in NSW, VATE in VIC and similar). I work from the transcript you upload, build a clean summary of admissions and denials, and flag issues under sections 84, 85 and 90 of the Evidence Act 1995. If you have only the audio or video, I can transcribe first then analyse.

Admissibility flags

I check for issues that commonly arise — cautions given and understood, whether a support person was present (especially for juveniles under section 13 Children (Criminal Proceedings) Act 1987 (NSW)), oppression, inducements, and questions asked after a clear refusal to answer. Each issue gets a specific reference to the relevant section of the transcript.

Content analysis

I build a structured summary of the interview — what was admitted, what was denied, what was said that could be taken out of context, and gaps where the interviewee said "no comment". This is the foundation for any section 90 application or for running the defence.

Use at trial

The interview may be played at trial as admissions or as prior inconsistent statements. I flag the parts likely to be tendered and the parts the defence will want excluded, and prepare a voir dire plan where admissibility is contested.

Common issues
  • Non-English speakers need a proper interpreter — I flag language issues
  • Juvenile interviews have specific requirements — check compliance carefully
  • Long interviews can hide crucial moments — the structured summary helps
