Does Quillio cover the migration review tribunal?
Yes. I cover Administrative Review Tribunal migration decisions (which replaced the AAT Migration and Refugee Division from October 2024), as well as the historical AAT and MRT/RRT decisions. I index by visa subclass, country of reference, ground of review, and outcome.
Coverage scope
ART migration decisions from October 2024 to present, AAT Migration and Refugee Division from 2015 to October 2024, and the earlier MRT and RRT decisions. For protection visas I also index by country of reference and the type of persecution claim.
How I handle country information
Protection visa decisions often turn on country information. I extract the DFAT country reports and UNHCR guidance cited in each decision, so you can see what the tribunal relied on. Recent country conditions should still be verified independently — I do not predict changes.
Judicial review pathway
Where a tribunal decision has been judicially reviewed in the Federal Circuit Court or the Federal Court, I link to the review decision and flag whether it was upheld, set aside, or remitted.
Step-by-step
- Choose migration research. Select "Legal research" and choose ART migration.
- Filter by visa class and issue. Narrow by visa subclass, country, and the legal issue.
- Review results. I return ranked decisions with facts, issues, and outcome.
- Export to matter. Save to matter or export to Word for your submission.
Common issues
- Protection visa decisions are often unpublished for confidentiality — I work only from public decisions
- The tribunal structure changed in October 2024 — older citations use AAT or MRT names, which I normalise
- Country information changes rapidly — always check the date of the DFAT report cited
