Matter files sync both ways: open a LEAP matter in Quillio and the matter files appear automatically; save a Quillio output back to LEAP and it appears in the LEAP matter under the correct folder. What the integration does
Two-way sync of matter files between LEAP and Quillio. Open a matter in Quillio from the LEAP matter list, and the matter files are pulled in on demand. Save a Quillio output (memo, letter, pleading) back to LEAP and it lands in the correct folder with the correct document type. Time entries for Quillio usage can be posted to LEAP as they occur.
How the authentication works
An administrator connects the firm's LEAP instance to Quillio once, using LEAP's OAuth flow. Individual users then sign in with their LEAP credentials and Quillio inherits the LEAP matter access permissions. Users do not see matters they do not have LEAP access to.
Time entries and billing
Quillio can post time entries to LEAP for each matter, with a description of the work done. Firms typically set this to "draft" so the responsible lawyer reviews the entry before it goes on the bill. You can also turn time entries off entirely if you prefer to handle billing separately.
Step-by-step
- Connect LEAP. A firm administrator opens "Firm settings" and selects "Integrations", then connects LEAP via the OAuth flow.
- Users sign in. Individual users sign in with their LEAP credentials. Quillio inherits their LEAP matter permissions.
- Open a LEAP matter. Open any LEAP matter from the Quillio matter list. Files sync on demand.
- Save outputs back to LEAP. Save memos, letters, and pleadings back to the LEAP matter with one click.
Common issues
- LEAP Cloud and LEAP On-Premise both work, but On-Premise requires the firm's IT to enable API access
- Very large LEAP matters may take a few seconds to sync on first open — subsequent opens are cached
- Time entry posting requires the user to have the LEAP "write time" permission — check before turning it on
