Does Quillio work offline?
No. Quillio requires an internet connection because the AI runs on Australian-hosted infrastructure rather than on your device. That said, the web app handles intermittent connections gracefully — drafts in progress are preserved, and when the connection returns, Quillio picks up where you left off. There is no download or offline mode planned.
Why Quillio is cloud-based
The models Quillio uses are too large to run on a laptop. Running them centrally on Australian-hosted infrastructure means every user has the same quality and the same current law applied, without needing to update anything locally. The trade-off is that an internet connection is required.
What works on a flaky connection
The web app is built to tolerate intermittent connections. A draft in progress is saved locally in the browser. If the connection drops, the draft is preserved. When the connection returns, the draft syncs and processing resumes.
Travelling and mobile
On a train or plane without WiFi, Quillio cannot run new queries. But you can review already-produced outputs (advice memos, draft pleadings) if you downloaded them to your device before travelling. Partners often export a pack before flying.
Common issues
- A flaky connection will make Quillio feel slow — that is the connection, not Quillio
- No plan for an offline desktop mode — the models cannot run locally
- Export important outputs to your device before travel if you need offline access to them
