How to import from SharePoint to Quillio
To import from SharePoint, connect Microsoft 365 once from "Firm settings" → "Integrations", then on any matter click "Import" and choose the SharePoint site and document library. Quillio respects SharePoint permissions — a user can only import from libraries they have access to. Permissions update in real time.
Site and library selection
SharePoint is structured around sites (one per team or matter type) containing document libraries. I let you pick the site, the library, and then the specific folder to import. Large sites with many libraries are navigable without pulling the whole site in.
Permission inheritance
Quillio uses the user's Microsoft 365 token, so the user sees only what SharePoint allows them to see. Restricted libraries (for example, partner-only or ethical-wall matters) remain inaccessible unless SharePoint grants access.
Version history
SharePoint maintains version history on documents. When I import, I take the current version and note the version number. If the document is updated in SharePoint, the next sync picks up the new version.
Step-by-step
- Connect Microsoft 365. Firm settings → Integrations → Microsoft 365. Admin authorises.
- Open the matter. Or create a new matter.
- Click "Import from SharePoint". Select site → library → folder.
- Confirm. Files pull in and OCR runs automatically.
Common issues
- SharePoint permissions are authoritative — if the user cannot access in SharePoint, they cannot import
- Check-out locks on SharePoint documents prevent import of the latest version — I flag when this happens
- Large document libraries should be imported selectively rather than in bulk
