How to share Quillio output with a client
To share Quillio output with a client, export to Word or PDF, or create a secure share link that expires after a set period. Client-facing versions automatically strip internal notes and apply your firm's letterhead if you have set one.
Word and PDF export
Every Quillio output (memo, chronology, letter, pleading) can be exported to Word or PDF with one click. Word exports preserve formatting and are ready to edit in your usual workflow. PDF exports are final-form and include your firm's letterhead if you have uploaded one.
Secure share links
For large outputs or matter bundles you can create a secure share link. The link expires after a period you set (default 14 days), requires the recipient to enter their email, and logs every access. Nothing is downloaded to the recipient's device unless you allow it.
Client-safe versions
When you export a Quillio output for a client, I strip internal notes (anything marked as "for the file only") and apply a client-friendly header. This avoids the common mistake of sending a draft with internal commentary still in it.
Step-by-step
- Open the output. Open the memo, letter, or bundle you want to share.
- Choose the share method. Word, PDF, or secure share link.
- Confirm what is included. Quillio shows a preview so you can see exactly what the client will receive.
- Send. Email the file directly from Quillio, or download and send from your own email.
Common issues
- Firm letterhead needs to be uploaded once in settings — I use it for every PDF export after that
- Secure share links require the recipient's email so the access log is meaningful
- Internal notes are not stripped from Word exports unless you choose the "client version" option
