Does Quillio support bulk matter import?
Yes. Quillio imports matters in bulk from practice management systems (LEAP, Actionstep, Smokeball), file shares (SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive), or CSV. Bulk import is used for firm onboarding or migration from another product. Our onboarding team assists for imports above 500 matters.
Import sources
Direct import from LEAP, Actionstep, Smokeball, and Filevine uses their APIs with your credentials. File share imports (SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive) walk a folder structure. CSV imports map matter metadata and link to separately uploaded documents.
Mapping and preservation
Matter metadata (client, matter type, dates, assigned lawyer) is mapped to Quillio fields. Folder structure from file shares is preserved as matter tags. Existing documents are uploaded and processed just like manual uploads.
Audit and verification
Every imported matter is logged in the audit trail. After import, we produce a verification report — matters created, documents uploaded, any errors. Firms review the report before going live.
Common issues
- Very large imports (5000+ matters) can take several hours — schedule for overnight
- Duplicate detection is matter-name based — review for false duplicates
- Practice management field mappings differ — work with onboarding for custom fields
