How to batch upload files to Quillio
To batch upload to Quillio — open the matter, click Upload, and drag an entire folder or select multiple files. Quillio handles up to 500 files or 10GB per upload. Folder structure is preserved in the matter organisation.
Supported formats
PDF (including scanned with OCR), Word (.docx, .doc), Excel (.xlsx, .xls), plain text, images (JPG, PNG), and most email formats (.msg, .eml). Zipped archives are unpacked automatically. Password-protected files are flagged and skipped.
Processing time
Small files (text PDFs, Word documents) process in seconds. Scanned documents need OCR and take longer. A 500-file batch typically completes in 10-20 minutes. You can use the matter while uploads complete.
Folder organisation
When you upload a folder, Quillio preserves the folder structure as matter tags. This is particularly useful for due diligence data rooms where the folder structure carries meaning (e.g., "Contracts/Material Contracts/Customer Contracts").
Step-by-step
- Open the matter. Open the matter where you want to upload.
- Click Upload. Click the upload icon at the top of the document list.
- Drag folder or select files. Drag a folder from your file system or click to select multiple files. Up to 500 files or 10GB per upload.
- Review and submit. Review the file list, optionally set tags or folder structure, and submit. Processing happens in the background.
Common issues
- Files over 2GB individually need to be uploaded separately
- Password-protected files are skipped — remove passwords first
- Scanned documents with very low resolution may produce OCR errors — rescan if critical
