How to run a firm-wide audit report in Quillio
To run a firm-wide audit report, open "Firm settings" → "Audit", choose a date range and any filters (user, matter type, workflow), and click "Generate". The report lists every matter, every query, every document access, and every export. Reports export to CSV, PDF, or JSON and are suitable for professional standards reviews, regulator requests, or firm annual compliance.
What the audit covers
The audit captures every matter creation, every AI query, every document upload, every export, every share, and every user action. Timestamps are in UTC and are non-editable. The audit is the same record the firm would produce for a regulator or an insurer.
Filtering
Filter by user, matter, matter type, date range, workflow, or event type. Common filters include "exports outside the firm in the last 30 days" or "matters where more than 500 queries were run".
Regulator-ready export
The PDF export is formatted for regulator use — it includes the firm details, the filter parameters, a hash of the content, and is exportable as an affidavit-ready appendix. I do not claim it replaces an affidavit, but it is what a solicitor can annex to one.
Step-by-step
- Open Firm settings → Audit. Only administrators see this.
- Set the filters. Date range, user, matter type, event type.
- Generate. Report produces in under a minute for most date ranges.
- Export. CSV, PDF, or JSON depending on the use case.
Common issues
- Audit exports can be large — I warn before producing very long date ranges
- Audit log is read-only — no-one can modify it (including administrators)
- For regulator use, the PDF export is usually what is wanted — I default to PDF
