Use case

Draft, review, and de-risk every contract — in minutes.

AI contract management has two halves: the system that stores and tracks contracts, and the intelligence that drafts, reviews, and de-risks them. Quillio is the intelligence — built for Australian and New Zealand law, working inside the contract system you already run.

In short

AI contract management applies AI to the contract lifecycle — drafting, review, clause comparison, and risk analysis. Quillio is the AI layer for that work: it drafts contracts from your templates, reviews incoming third-party paper for risk and missing protections, compares versions clause by clause, and surfaces the terms that matter — unfair contract terms, auto-renewals, liability caps — with citations to the relevant law. Quillio is not a contract repository or e-signature tool; it works inside the systems you already use (Clio, Smokeball, OneLaw, Actionstep, iManage, NetDocuments), adding the intelligence those systems do not have. Built for Australian and New Zealand contract law.

Before & after

What changes

Without Quillio

Third-party paper arrives and someone has to read all of it — checking it against your standard positions, finding the auto-renewal buried in clause 14, the liability cap that is too low, the term that is likely unfair (and now penalised) under the Australian Consumer Law. On a busy week, it does not get the attention it needs.

With Quillio

Quillio reads the contract in seconds, flags the clauses that diverge from your position, surfaces the auto-renewal and the unfair terms with the relevant law cited, and drafts the redlines — leaving the lawyer to negotiate, not to hunt.

How it works

From upload to output

1

Upload the contract, or draft from a template

Quillio works on third-party paper — the counterparty's own contract — or builds a fresh draft from your firm's precedents and templates.

2

It reviews, compares, and drafts

Quillio extracts the key terms, flags risk and unusual clauses, compares versions clause by clause, and drafts or redrafts clauses to your standard position.

3

AU/NZ risk, with the law cited

It surfaces unfair contract terms, auto-renewals, and liability exposure, citing the relevant legislation or your firm's playbook for each flag — so the lawyer decides with the law in front of them.

4

The lawyer negotiates and signs off

Quillio produces the analysis and redlines; your lawyer negotiates and approves. Storage, signing, and renewal tracking stay in your existing system — Quillio is the intelligence layer, not a replacement for it.

Walkthrough

A real example

Scenario

A supplier sends through their standard services agreement on their own paper. Your client is a small business, and you need to know what to push back on before the deal closes.

Inputs

Upload the supplier's agreement to Quillio. Note that your client is the customer and a small business.

Quillio output

In seconds: a summary of the key terms, seven flagged clauses including an automatic-renewal provision and a limitation-of-liability clause well below market, two terms likely to be unfair under the Australian Consumer Law standard-form regime (with the provision cited), and drafted redlines for the three highest-risk clauses — ready for you to review and send.

Questions

AI Contract Management FAQs

What is AI contract management?

AI contract management applies AI to the contract lifecycle — drafting, review, clause comparison, and risk analysis. There are two layers: a contract management system (CLM) that stores and tracks contracts, and the AI that does the actual contract work. Quillio is the AI layer — it drafts, reviews, compares, and de-risks contracts inside the systems you already use.

Is Quillio a contract management system (CLM)?

No. Quillio is not a repository, e-signature, or obligation-tracking system. It is the AI that drafts, reviews, compares, and risk-checks contracts. Storage, signing, and renewal tracking stay with your existing systems — Quillio works inside them through two-way integrations, so you add the intelligence without replacing your contract system.

Can Quillio catch unfair contract terms under Australian law?

Quillio flags clauses likely to be unfair contract terms under the Australian Consumer Law standard-form regime, under which — since November 2023 — each unfair term in a standard-form contract can be a separate contravention carrying civil penalties. It surfaces the clause, explains why it is a risk, and cites the relevant provision — so your lawyer makes the call with the law in front of them. It is a first-pass aid, not a compliance guarantee.

Does it find auto-renewal and other hidden clauses?

Yes. Auto-renewal and evergreen clauses, low liability caps, one-sided indemnities, and unusual termination provisions are exactly the terms Quillio surfaces during review — the ones easy to miss in third-party paper and expensive to discover later.

Will it work on the other side's paper, not just our templates?

Yes. Quillio reviews third-party paper — the supplier's or counterparty's own contract — against your standard positions, which is where most contract risk hides. It also drafts from your own templates when you are on the front foot.

Is our contract data secure?

Quillio holds ISO 27001:2022 certification and a SOC 2 Type II attestation, and is aligned to IRAP, the Australian Privacy Principles, and GDPR. Your contracts are stored in Australia and are never used to train any model; an enterprise option keeps all AI processing in Australia. Quillio is Australian owned and operated, headquartered in Sydney.

How is this different from US contract AI tools?

Most AI contract tools are built and trained on US or UK law. Quillio is built for Australian and New Zealand law — it understands AU document types and cites AU/NZ legislation and authority. For contracts governed by AU or NZ law, that context is the difference between a useful flag and a misleading one.

Try it on a current document.

The fastest way to see Quillio on contracts is to upload a live one — a supplier's agreement or a draft you are working on — and see the review, the risk flags, and the redlines in seconds. The free trial requires no sales call.
